Tribute to John Lennon

(Note: This was written on Monday, 8th of December 1980 on the day that John was shot dead in New York City).

Oh the rich man he says,
"No caviar, these are hard days".
And the poor men say,
"What is missed? we have no caviar anyway".
Then the rich man he came to me and he gave me fifty pounds,
So I gave him caviar,
And the poor man he came to me and he held out hungry arms,
But I says "I don't give a damm,
There will be poor always".
Then the man in the street with the large eyes asks me "Why?",
Justice has not been done"
So I shot him in the chest,
With my point three eight gun.
He staggered to his room and fell,
He had so much, so much to tell.
The world says "Ah!" but they agree with me,
It's been the same throughout all history.
Who will the next large eyed man be?
